From the big city of Tampa, Florida, Walter A Davis III is an exciting Motivational Speaker, Teacher, Preacher, and Evangelist, inspiring and speaking to the lost, backslidden, and saved all across this nation. He began his ministry in 1992 when he released a Gospel Rap album to reach the youth in his community intitled, "God's Kindom is Coming". Recognizing his gift of preaching as he ministered in music, he joined the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was licensed and ordained under the ministry of Dr. Norman S Greer, Senior Pastor. After two years, God called him to leave the nest, go out, and pastor the flock of God. Since that time he has press toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ and yet to look back. * Walter served as pastor of the Mt Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Murphysboro, IL from 1994 - 2000. It was there that many accomplishments were made. He quickly became the Moderator of the Zion District Association. The District, which once had over 20 active churches participating had declined to just two. Like Nehemiah, he saw a need to rebuild the wall and restore truth and glory back to God and the Zion District Association. Under the guidance of God and through his leadership the District, which only had two churches active, begin to grow and churches who were once active in the Association again became active and God began to move. Before God called him to his next mission, 10 churches had joined the District and God's people were being restored. * Walter also served as pastor at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Sparta, Illinois for two years before God called him to finish school at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. * Walter was born April 3, 1969, to Lela and Walter A Davis Jr. He was born in Orlando, Florida and later moved with his mother to Carbondale, IL at the age of 10. After 40 years in Carbondale, IL, he heard God's call to move back to Florida. In 2021, he moved to Tampa, Florida to further God's ministry in his life. He has 1 brother (Devett Oliver), and 3 sisters (Brenda Mosley, Lisa, and Leslie Davis). * Walter has four lovely children, three daughters and a son, Marshay, Misha, Mariah, and Alex. * Walter is now working at The University of South Florida Tampa as an Academic Advisor II and Adjunct Professor, helping young college students develop the skills they need to be successful students and mature adults. He is also a the Member of Black Faculty and Staff, Black Employee Steering Committee, and All-Pro Dad, to strategize, inspire, and motivate young students to graduate from college. * Walter is also a Motivational Speaker and Evangelizes God's word to young students to help them understand the importance of having God in their life at a young age and the impact they can make while in college. He also speaks at campus worshops and events and speaks God's word when called at different local churches in the area. |
Education
In August of 2000, the Lord called Walter to go back to school and finish his college degree. In May of 2002, by God's mercy, he graduated from John A Logan Community College with an Associates Degree. In May of 2004, by God's grace, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation. In May of 2008, by God's word, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Workforce Education and Development and now works at the University as an Instructor and an Academic Advisor. |
